Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The freshness of the food stands out, and diners rave about the quality of the fish and chips. Many love the perfectly cooked chips, which accompany larger-than-life portions of fish. The light and crispy batter is frequently mentioned, often described as melting in your mouth. Visitors appreciate the quick service from friendly staff, which adds to the overall enjoyable experience. Affordable pricing is another highlight, making it easy for families to dine without overspending. The focus on traditional chip shop favorites without frills resonates well, emphasizing quality over quantity. Finally, the community feel and welcoming atmosphere keep patrons returning, often becoming regulars.

Most Disliked

Some diners mention the expected wait times during peak hours, particularly on busy Saturdays, as a drawback. While the food is undoubtedly fresh, this can sometimes lead to longer cooking times. A few patrons have noted that the absence of variety in menu items can be limiting if you prefer diverse options beyond classic fish and chips. Although the kids' menu offers a few selections, it may not cater to more selective young eaters. Occasionally, the seating can feel crowded during lunch and dinner rushes, which might detract from a relaxed dining experience. Again, the popularity of this place can be a double-edged sword, as the bustling atmosphere may not suit those seeking peace and quiet.

It's a good seaside chip shop, I only got a portion of chips but they' were freshly cooked and quite crunchy. Staff were friendly and efficient. They put what ship and port the daily catch comes from up a board.

WOW WOW WOW Tried Imries today for the 1st time as both me and my wife love proper good fish and Chips. Had a good chat with John the owner and his super friendly staff. Note there are no fried items in the heater every order is made fresh. The fish was large in portion and incredibly fresh held together in the lightest crispiest batter which melted in your mouth. These boys know how to fry so please if you are in the area give it a try. This is definitely one of if not the best Fish and Chips in Scotland and we have tried a few.

Visited here on recommendation & it has become our favourite chippy. Forget about the ones along the coast Imrie's is far superior in quality & pricing. No fancy pizzas, wraps or burgers just good old fashioned chip shop favourites here served by friendly staff. A fish supper & a single lemon sole (generous portion sizes) was £20. Sole is expensive & a treat so this was well worth the money.

Don’t come across such good fish and chips very often - fish fresh and well seasoned, batter light and crisp, chips also really well done and crispy. Basically hitting all the right notes! Went at lunch time around 1.30pm, no other customers but had a short 10-15 min wait as they fried it in the spot. Would take the wait anyday over soggy fish/chips that has been sitting on the counter for hours. This fish bar truly sets the standard for perfect fish and chips!
